Forgotten Lore "Glittering Darkness"

A good job this one for the Forgotten Lore, a band that has distinguished itself also playing with the Swedish Dark Funeral, in an Italian concert.

Various influences amalgamate in the sound of Glittering Darkness, you cannot speak of a right radical extreme black metal, but of a death/black with some melodic notes and several gothic ones.

Five songs where Oblivion's loud voice masters the situation, vomiting all the evil he feels inside, even if certain growls may sometimes sound unnecessary.
|
The riffs are never taken for granted, but direct, and that said I do not mean that the technique is missing, on the contrary! The only slight fault I have found is in some drums passages that seem played with not much conviction, but this counts for nothing because in the total sound of the songs the rhythmic section will be practically perfect.

The opener Evil is excellent, with its beginning similar to an arpeggio that is only the prelude to a massacre.
|
The other songs keep their balance with what I have already said, after all a début that shows a great personality of the band, all we have to do is wait for their next work that perhaps will bring to a good contract.
